Saves The Day at Fun-d-raiser:

AT a fundraising for the construction of Nabalongo Church of Uganda in Baitambogwe sub-county, Mayuge District last Saturday, the usually indifferent Lira Municipality MP Jimmy Akena won everyone’s admiration when he played hero.

Midway into the function, the hired public address system broke down and Akena rushed to his maroon Toyota Land Cruiser and to everyone’s surprise, removed a PA system complete with microphones and speakers.

In response to the ensuing the adulation from onlookers who included Bunya West MP, Aggrey Bagiire and chief guest, Government Chief Whip Kabakumba Masiko, one of Akena’s aides bragged: We congress men are ever ready! Indeed.
